Instruction for the portfolio viva voce

Last few days have been hectic!
Portfolio should be more informative as I want you to come with more specific information on vernacular architecture than what has been submitted already. All of you come prepared with some new aspects in the subject you will like to indulge in. Marks will be more on your comprehensive skill than whatever work was submitted. I will like to discuss along with the external examiner in the portfolio what more design possibilities exist  in the ambit of vernacular architecture. Keep your reference notes ready when you appear for this. It is going  to be interesting session in which you will be sharing your own ideas entirely on creative lines. I would like you to prepare the matter thoroughly well before hand.

Attempt the following two questions as basics in vernacular architecture?

1. Show the effects of climate in various zones on vernacular form with regard to openings, walls, roofs, floors, etc.

2.Describe the role of environment on architecture. What does environment constitute?
How did it affect the early man's abode down to the ones of pre-industrial era?

You are to attempt a regenerative plan to vernacular architecture of various regions- based on climatic zones, and closer to stronger ecosystem such as rain forests, or devastation of Afghanistan as example as to what is happening to cultural systems or natural ecosystem as direct impact on the human settlement.
What are the qualifying climatic zones where such vernacular architecture elements are confounded?
What are the forces acting to diminish these elements?
What do you suggest to contain the problem in the present scenario?
