Urban vernacular in India lies under a  state of  constant change though the integral core is traditionally  intact and valid.

Rural vernacular in far flung areas is  still unaffected. The process for change is far slower than in the rural areas which are in proximity to  urban conglomerates or cities.

The urban vernacular is in disarray due to lack of systematic switchover to ammenities and urban services which need to be corroborated efficiently. The urban vernacular is still  applicable in sense of sustainability.

Municipalities somewhat demonstrate  lack of will or expertise to improve the conditions of such urban  vernacular potential areas.
This way we are in grip of further complex problem in the system

There is no clear cut alternative to  co-existence of urban vernacular with other new urban districts in wake of globalization which are taking the third world by storm.
